Simple and sophisticated.  Classic and comfortable.  These are mottos that anyone can live by, regardless of their own personal style.  Whether you're off to work or just meandering about, a pair of dress pants can serve you well.  Whether you wear them with a blouse, or a patterned sweater as I did, you simply cannot go wrong with a cigarette pant.  I kept a very fall/winter aesthetic with my dark grey/navy houndstooth (best pattern, in my opinion) sweater and my suede booties.  The best part of such a simple outfit is that it allows you to be dramatic in other places: like lips.  I wore a dark burgundy that, of course, matched my pants!  When in doubt, choose just one area of your outfit to be bold in.
