You can't make much more of a statement than plaid pants.  Throwback to my Dad's golfing pants... these are just a little bit, well, less hideous.  Actually, it's their capacity to be hideous that, I think, makes them fabulous.  You can't wear such a loud pair of pants meekly, they need to be matched by complete confidence, otherwise they'll wear you.  Isn't that always the case, though?  Shouldn't we all wear our clothes with pride?  After all, it's the first thing people see when they look at you-- clothes are their window into who you are.  So dress to impress!  Dress for you!

Let's Get Crayola

The best way to stand out on a dreary (well, it's actually really sunny in LA) winter's day?  Wear every primary color at once!  The wonderful thing about this vintage dress is its versatility.  In cooler weather, you can wear a turtleneck underneath, or like I did, keep it bare.  It's breathable, comfortable, and can be worn with or without a belt.  I matched my red belt with my red Keds, and dressed it up with a short string of pearls.  One of my favorite combinations is actually pearls and tennis shoes- you are at once casual and classic!
