Just a Girl and Her Pearls

It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single woman in possession of good fortune, must be in want of some pearls.  Quite frankly, no matter who you are, what you look like, or what you're wearing, you can never go wrong with a solid string of pearls.  Knotted, double-stranded, choker... well, you get the point.  On a perfect 72 degree, Los Angeles winter day, I tipped my (metaphorical) cap to a few eras of fashion.  The floral print, though a bit "sprung-forward," has a very 70s, loose fitting vibe.  With a dress like this, however, you have to be careful not to box your figure in!  By adding a pair of 1920s-esque T-Strap heels, you lengthen your legs and finish off the entire vintage look.  The shoes also offer a great pop of color, that also draw attention to your legs, making you look much taller (shout-out to those under 5"4).  The high neckline gives an air of elegance, which sharpens the contrast with the low-hanging necklace.  Because the outfit itself is such a statement, I kept make-up very minimal.  Black eyeliner, translucent glitter eyeliner, and red lipstick are all you need to tie it together.
